The amount of loose leaf tea for each cup is more than a ratio - it's a personal preference. I've found that each tea has their own amounts, depending on water quality and temperature. Sometimes I like a light cup; other times a stronger-flavored cup.
The following guide is a suggested starting point to help you determine the best cup for you. Use the measuring system that fits you best. The first time I try a tea I use a small scale with my favorite scoop zeroed out, then place the tea on the spoon to see how it measures. I can easily measure from my spoon after I determine the right amount of leaves to use.
Water ratio: 8 oz. Adjust tea leaves rather than time to brew stronger or lighter infusions.
